Email sending
Mail from the Gateway and every app, through Cloudflare Email Sending or Resend.
Sends your Gateway's mail (invitations, password resets) and your apps' mail, through Cloudflare Email Sending (the default) or Resend. Optional: without it, invitations give you a link to share.
Used by: OpenMail to send replies (required); OpenAnalytics for reports and alerts (optional).
Cloudflare Email Sending
The default, with no key. Your domain must be on Cloudflare DNS in the Gateway's account, on Workers Paid.
- In the dashboard, open Email Service → Email Sending and select Onboard Domain.
- Pick your domain (or a subdomain like
mail.example.com), review the DNS records it adds, and confirm. - Wait until the domain is listed under Email Sending, usually 5 to 15 minutes. Then set the sender, below.
Resend
If you already use Resend.
- Open Domains, select Add Domain, and add the domain you'll send from. Sign in to Cloudflare adds the DNS records for you.
- Wait for the domain to show Verified.
- Open API Keys, select Create API Key with Sending access, and copy it (
re_…). It's shown once. - Set it, then the sender, below:
everyapp secret set RESEND_API_KEYSet the sender
The address mail comes from and the name people see:
everyapp secret set EMAIL_FROM
everyapp secret set EMAIL_FROM_NAMEFor example noreply@example.com and your company's name. If both providers are set up, EMAIL_PROVIDER (cloudflare or resend) picks one.
An app that sends as its own addresses, like OpenMail, needs them allowed: everyapp email set --sender '*@example.com'.
Check it worked
everyapp email show prints the provider and the sender. Then invite someone from Manage workspace → People: the invitation should arrive.
Apps ask for it with capabilities: { email: { access: "write", why: "…" } } and send with sendEmail(). More in Email.
