Usage and caps
See what your apps spend on AI and data providers, cap an app's calls or dollars per month, and be emailed when a cap is near.
Apps that use AI or a data provider like DataForSEO make those calls through your Gateway, with the key you added once, and the Gateway counts every call it makes for an app. Everything below is under Manage workspace at the bottom of the Gateway's sidebar, in the Usage tab, for owners and admins.
What is counted
Provider calls is the number of calls the Gateway made for the app that month: to AI providers (OpenAI, OpenRouter, Workers AI) and to capabilities like DataForSEO, counted together, whether an app or an MCP app made them. A call is a call, whatever it cost.
- Calls, and dollars where reported. One call costs a fraction of a cent or several dollars, depending on the model and the endpoint. Provider cost shows money only where the provider reports it with the answer: DataForSEO and OpenRouter do; OpenAI reports tokens only; Workers AI reports nothing.
- Your provider bills you. The Gateway holds the key and makes the call; the invoice comes from OpenAI, OpenRouter, DataForSEO or Cloudflare, and that invoice is the bill. What it costs
- Only calls through the Gateway. An app that calls a service with a key of its own is invisible here, and so is email the Gateway sends for an app.
Cap an app
In the Monthly cap column, select Set cap and enter a number of calls, or in your every-app folder run pnpm everyapp workspace app cap <app> 1000 (off removes it). The cap is per calendar month (UTC) and takes effect within 30 seconds.
Cap in dollars
The same dialog takes dollars per month instead of calls, or beside them: pnpm everyapp workspace app cap <app> --usd 20. A dollar cap counts only what a provider reports a price for: OpenRouter and DataForSEO. Calls to OpenAI, Workers AI and the rest don't move it; they count toward the call cap alone. Pair the two if an app uses both kinds.
When an app reaches a cap
The Gateway refuses its AI and provider calls until the month ends or someone raises the cap. With both caps set, whichever it reaches first stops it. The app still opens and shows its data; only the calls that spend money stop. Its row says Paused by calls or Paused by dollars, and its card on the Gateway's home says Paused. Select Raise in the row to set a higher cap for that app.
A cap is a soft stop. The Gateway counts a call, and its price, once the provider has answered, so a burst of calls can run a few calls or a few cents past the cap.
A default for every app
Default monthly cap, above the table, caps every app that has no cap of its own, including apps you add later, in calls, dollars or both (pnpm everyapp workspace cap default 1000 --usd 20). An app's own cap replaces the default of that kind for that app. To leave one app uncapped while the default stands, select Edit in its row and choose No cap. Raise on an app the default paused gives that app a cap of its own; the default itself changes in its own row.
Cap alerts
Owners and admins are emailed at 80% and at the cap once the Gateway can send mail; change that under Manage workspace → Events. The alerts come with your first cap, the default included; an admin switches them off there, or adds a webhook that gets the same events. Email alerts, Send email
Audit log
Manage workspace → Activity → Audit is the workspace's audit log: who did what, newest first. Someone joined or was invited, an app was installed or updated, a cap was set or reached, an AI app was connected or a token revoked, Access turned on, an MCP app or provider added, and what your apps report about themselves. Each row says when, who (a member, an AI app, the command line, an app, or the Gateway itself), what happened in plain words, and what it was about. Filter by who, by kind of event and by time; it never holds a secret, a tool's arguments or an event's payload.
Owners and admins see it; it is kept for 90 days. The same from a terminal is pnpm everyapp workspace audit, and from your AI app the everyapp_workspace_audit tool. The default view, Agent activity, lists every tool call an AI app made. Events
