Set up Cloudflare

Create a Cloudflare account and turn on Workers Paid. About 5 minutes.

EveryApp runs in your own Cloudflare account, and Cloudflare bills you directly. Already have an account? Use it. EveryApp leaves the rest of your account alone.

What EveryApp puts in your account

Setup adds one program on Cloudflare (a Worker named every-app-gateway), one database (D1, every-app-gateway) and one small key-value store (KV, every-app-gateway-OAUTH_KV), and gives the Worker your Gateway's address, apps.yourcompany.com: one DNS record and an HTTPS certificate on your domain. Each app you deploy adds its own Worker, with a name that starts with every-, with the databases it declares (the starter: one D1 database) and its own address below the Gateway's, todo.apps.yourcompany.com, the same way.

Nothing else changes unless you ask for it: pnpm everyapp access on adds a Zero Trust team, two Access applications and one policy (Cloudflare Access); sending or receiving email adds the records those need (Send email). Your other Workers, DNS records, domains and websites are never touched. If Cloudflare asks you to pick a workers.dev name during setup, that is Cloudflare's own one-time step for the account; your apps never use it (Troubleshooting).

Sign up at dash.cloudflare.com/sign-up. Then verify your email from the message Cloudflare sends you. You need this to buy a domain.

Turn on Workers Paid

Open Workers plans in the Cloudflare dashboard. Choose the Paid plan ($5 a month) and enter your card. Full details are on Cloudflare's pricing page.

Why the free plan won't work

On the free plan, Cloudflare stops your databases for the rest of the day once they reach a daily limit. The Gateway checks its database every time someone opens an app, so all your apps would stop with it.
